Follow the procedures below to ensure that you have an exact copy of the original Pricelessware CD.
A small program named DVDSig is included in the root directory of the CD. DVDSig creates a digital fingerprint file named dvdsig.md5 that is used to verify a CD. The author of DVDSig is Dariusz Stanislawek: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/freeware/
Doubleclick on dvdsig.exe and choose verify. This check tells you whether your CD is a true and complete copy of the files that were scanned to create the dvdsig.md5 file.
This is the message you should see when the verification is complete:
Total:225 OK:225 Bad:0 Missing:0
The operation completed successfully. 225 files, 643MB, *s
* = the number of seconds it took to run the check
To further ensure that your CD is an exact copy of the original CD verify that your dvdsig.md5 file matches the original dvdsig.md5 file:
Create a temporary directory on your hard drive.
Create a subdirectory. (the directory names do not matter)
Copy dvdsig.exe from the CD to the directory.
Copy dvdsig.md5 from the CD to the subdirectory.
Doubleclick on dvdsig.exe, click scan.
This will create a dvdsig.md5 file in the directory.
The Pricelessware dvdsig.md5 file is here: http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2007/dvdsig.md5 Right-click on the link and save the file on your hard drive.
In the subdirectory replace the dvdsig.md5 file from the CD with the copy of dvdsig.md5 downloaded from the Pricelessware site.
Doubleclick on dvdsig.exe, click verify.
If your CD is a true copy of the original CD this is the message you will see when the verification is complete:
Total: 2 OK: 2 Bad: 0 Missing: 0
The operation completed successfully: 2 files, OMB, *s
