Description: What does ID-Blaster Plus do? In Windows, many applications have something called a "product ID number", a "GUID" or a "Unique ID number". This number may be the same through Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player - even the operating system itself. Since this number nevers changes, it would be the PERFECT way a malicious person or even an advertising company could track your habits. Maybe through a malicious website ActiveX control, or java applet. Well why not just delete it? In this case, you would have a constant ID of nothing - and given the small number of people that might also have that "null" value, it could still be used to track you. ID-Blaster Plus works by changing these ID numbers frequently, destroying tracking tactics using these numbers. ID-Blaster can run from the system tray, using up very little resources, and constantly protect you in the background.

Description: Script Sentry allows safe scripts to run on your system while alerting you if a script might harm your system. In addition, Script Sentry prevents against malicious scripts hidden in ShellScrap (hidden SHS and SHB extensions) files, Word/Excel macro viruses, malicious HTA files, and accidentally run REG files. You can specify which scripts/files should be allowed to run and Script Sentry will invisibly allow those to run. Script Sentry is a "set it and forget it" application so it takes up exactly 0MB of memory unless it's needed. NOTE: Script Sentry is not a replacement for a good anti-virus program, but a supplement to it. An anti-virus program might stop a script virus once you update it's virus definition files, but before you do that the virus has a window of opportunity. Script Sentry simply helps close that window. NOTES: Requires Visual Basic 6 Runtimes and Windows Scripting Host.

Description: ScripTrap traps scripts when they attempt to run on your computer and provides the option of blocking them or letting them continue to run. You can also check the intercepted script with your anti-virus program before you decide to run it or not. ScripTrap will also warn you when Microsoft Word and Excel files are about to run, possibly saving you from executing documents that could contain malicious macro code by giving you that important second chance after inadvertently opening an email attachment! ScripTrap provides you with filtering capabilities so you can choose to automatically accept or reject selected script files without prompting. You can also choose to only intercept scripts that try to run from temporary directories, having most likely been placed there when about to be run from an email attachment. Unlike similar offerings ScripTrap will remove all traces of itself upon uninstalling including removing all associated registry entries and folder/file deletion.

Description: AxCrypt is free and easy to use open source strong file encryption for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2K/XP, integrated with Windows Explorer. Encrypt, compress, decrypt, wipe, view and edit with a few mouse clicks. Cryptographic primitives are AES-128 and SHA-1. Encrypted files have a ".axx" extension added to their names, and are shown with a new icon. To encrypt a file, right-click it in Windows Explorer and select 'AxCrypt | Encrypt'. To edit or view an encrypted file - just double-click it. To decrypt, right-click and select 'AxCrypt | Decrypt' instead. No configuration is necessary. Run the installer, and AxCrypt is ready to use. English, German, French, Spanish, Italian or Swedish will be used for messages and dialogues depending on the language of the system. Documentation (this document) and installation scripts are in English. COMMENTS: This is the most reliable and effective encryption program I've tried, and it is easy to use. But when done working with your encrypted files, you need to remember to right click and select 'clear passphrase memory' to make your file inaccessible again.

Description: The Passwords Database program automates log-ons by providing logon names (accounts), passwords and other fields when a program requests them, thus eliminating the need to type them each time manually. For example, when a Web site asks for an account and password name, the program can enter both fields and even press "Submit" button, so you'll pass the logon procedure whithout even clicking a mouse. The program is not limited to work with Web sites only - it can automate logons to any Windows program. Of course, having all passwords in one place could be dangerous. But, the program can encrypt all the information using industry-standard algorithm RC4. The latest versions can also use even more "pretty good" security - it is possible to encrypt a file with Phil Zimmermann's PGP.
