Verifying the CD:

Follow the procedures below to ensure that you have a true and complete copy of the 2004 Pricelessware CD.

A small program named dvdsig.exe is included in the root directory of the CD. dvdsig.exe creates digital fingerprints of files. The fingerprint file is named dvdsig.md5. The author of dvdsig.exe is Dariusz Stanislawek: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/freeware/

Doubleclick on dvdsig.exe and choose verify. This check tells you whether your CD is a true and complete copy of the files that were scanned to create the dvdsig.md5 file.

This is the message you should see when the verification is complete:

Total: 273 OK: 273 Bad: 0 Missing: 0
The operation completed successfully: 273 files, 524MB, *s
* = the number of seconds it took to run the check

To ensure that your dvdsig.md5 fingerprint file matches the original fingerprint file:

Create a temporary directory on your hard drive.
Create a subdirectory. (the directory names do not matter)

Copy dvdsig.exe from the CD to the directory.
Copy dvdsig.md5 from the CD to the subdirectory.

Doubleclick on dvdsig.exe, click scan.
This will create a dvdsig.md5 file in the directory.

The Pricelessware dvdsig.md5 file is here: http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2004/dvdsig.md5 Right-click on the link and save the file on your hard drive.

In the subdirectory replace the dvdsig.md5 file from the CD with the copy of dvdsig.md5 downloaded from the Pricelessware site.

Doubleclick on dvdsig.exe, click verify.

This is the message you should see when the verification is complete:

Total: 2 OK: 2 Bad: 0 Missing: 0
The operation completed successfully: 2 files, OMB, *s
* = the number of seconds it took to run the check
